Certain rings are more attractive on chubby fingers than others, the important thing to remember is proportion. For instance, if you have large fingers, a tiny engagement ring is going to get lost on your hand. A thicker band and elongated diamond shape such as marquise or oval are the best choices. When I suggest a thick band, be careful that it is not too thick, you do not want it to overpower the diamond or look disproportionate.
A dainty solitaire diamond engagement ring will not work for you if you have large fingers. It may be exactly what you have dreamed of, simple and elegant but unless your fingers are average or petite, it will not be a good look.
